7 inspiring young people with SEND came together for an interactive, youth-led workshop with education leaders.

Making Participation Work, delivered by Kids and the Council for Disabled Children, supports young people with SEND to amplify their voices, develop skills, and shape local and national decision-making.
The programme is funded by the Department for Education as part of the wider Participation and Family Support programme, which is delivered by the Participation, Information and Advice consortium. Consortium members are Kids, Council for Disabled Children, National Network of Parent Carer Forums and Contact.
The Making Participation Work element is delivered by Kids and Council for Disabled Children.

In 2024–2025, we delivered a wide-ranging programme of local and national participation support, working with councils, NHS trusts and DfE partners to co-produce videos, consultations, events and resources that amplified the voices of children and young people with SEND.
