Kids annual review 2022-23

We’ve released our annual review for the year 2022-23. Find out how we’ve created life-changing opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Creating brighter futures

It’s been a very busy year of positive change at Kids, and we’ve now released our annual review for the financial year 2022/23.

As you know, we’re an ambitious charity that aspires to change the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We believe every child should have an equal opportunity to learn, play, grow and thrive.

We aim to support at least 120,000 children, young people and their families every year, by 2027, and 2022/23 saw some important steps towards this as we increased our reach to 18,000 and made some very impactful changes.

Our way forward

During this time we started work on our newly launched Kids branding and website, which is the result of extensive research. The new look and messaging are all about positivity and empowerment. Along with the website we now have a fantastic platform to achieve our goals, and inspire the public to offer their support.

We’re adapting our services to enable us to help more people in need, and we’re now delivering online services, with a brilliant new Young People’s Hub, and our growing Family Support Online service offers parents and carers across England bespoke practical and emotional support.

The annual report shows our progress against our strategic pillars – support, innovate, speak up, and sustain.

Thank you for your continued support, we couldn’t do it without you!

A word from Katie Ghose, Kids CEO

“Over the next year, I am particularly excited about accelerating our reach through digital services, especially through the Young People’s Hub and developing online support for parents and carers.

“I am looking forward to harnessing partnerships and speaking up for change, and to engaging more people who care in our shared purpose. And together we will be countering whatever challenges the world throws at us. Inspired by the resilience and resolve of those we support.”
