At our nursery, it’s all about play, fun, and development. We bring disabled and non-disabled children together, encouraging them to explore, interact, and grow.
Every child is unique, and we celebrate their individual characteristics, nurturing their self-confidence, social skills, and curiosity.
Through active learning, we ignite their imagination and promote essential motor skills and communication development.
At Kids’ Basingstoke Nursery, we’re all about nurturing happy children, fostering their development, and supporting families every step of the way. Come join our community of learning and growth!
The nursery is separated into three main rooms that we call ‘bubbles’.
Blue Bubble: This is where our youngest ones, aged 3 months to 2 years, make their first memories. With a caring ratio of 1:3, this space includes a sleep room, nappy changing area, and mealtime zones. Here, we focus on sensory exploration, physical development, communication, and social interaction.
Red Bubble: This room is home to our 2 to 4-year-olds, with a ratio of 1:5. It’s all about embracing the Early Years Foundation Stage, fostering cultural understanding, self-awareness, and expanding horizons. Through play, we ignite their imagination, boost their communication skills, and broaden their knowledge.
Green Bubble: Designed for 3 to 5-year-olds, this space maintains a ratio of 1:8. Our focus in the Rainforest is once again on all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Here, we promote independence, refine gross and fine motor skills, enhance communication and language, and ensure our children are well-prepared for the exciting transition to school.
Garden: all our children have access to our fantastic garden areas, where outdoor learning plays a pivotal role in their daily adventures.
Sensory Room: we’re particularly proud of our sensory room, a beloved addition since 2019. It’s a delightful space where all our children (and staff!) can explore various lights, sounds, and soft play objects. This sensory wonderland is especially beneficial for children with learning difficulties, developmental disabilities, or sensory impairments. It builds their confidence and abilities while providing a calming environment that helps us identify their preferences.
Parrot Room: we’ve set aside a tranquil space for speech and language development. This quiet room, equipped with lots of resources, is where children and their key worker work on enhancing their communication skills.
Speech and Language Enhanced
The Welcom Speech and Language Toolkit is an excellent resource designed to support the development of children’s early communication skills. It provides a structured, evidence‑informed approach that helps staff identify children’s strengths, observe emerging needs, and introduce targeted strategies to strengthen understanding, expressive language, and social communication. The toolkit is simple to use in day‑to‑day practice and allows adults to confidently embed high‑quality communication support into play, routines, and learning experiences.
Welcom also offers a range of practical activities, visual supports, and guidance materials that help children build confidence in listening, speaking, turn‑taking, and interacting with others. By using this toolkit consistently across the environment, staff are able to create a language‑rich setting where all children—especially those who may need additional support—benefit from enhanced opportunities to develop key speech and language skills. It is an invaluable resource that strengthens both early identification and effective intervention.
“I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough. Literally no words can express how amazing this nursery has been.” (Parent)
“The greatest concern for every parent is to leave your child with someone else and wonder how they will cope but at Kids I personally feel my child is happy and she enjoys coming to nursery.” (Parent)

Our enhanced on‑site offer includes additional services and provisions that fall outside the Early Years Funding entitlement, and these will be itemised on your invoice as chargeable extras. These optional costs ensure we can provide an enriched experience while keeping the funded hours themselves completely free.
Invoices must be paid up front and in full, with payment due before the 5th of each month. If payment is not received by this date, we reserve the right to pause care until the account is settled.
The Early Years Funding Entitlement does not cover all aspects of the high‑quality provision we offer, so additional costs will be included on invoices to support the exceptional service your child receives. These contributions ensure we can continue providing the very best opportunities and the strongest possible start for your child.
If you are interested in applying for a place for your child please get in touch with us to arrange a chat. If you decide to join us we will arrange your induction process of three ‘stay and play’ sessions where your child can come and play with us for 1 hour. These sessions enable the children to start to feel familiar with our setting as well as helping staff get to know your child’s specific needs.
Please see the documents below for more information on our application process and options for help with funding places.
