What is this session about?

This workshop is designed as an introduction of the understanding of Autism, ADHD, and Demand Avoidance Profiles. and how these may present in children. Delivered by practitioners with both professional expertise and lived experience, this workshop offers real-world understanding and guidance. The workshop will look at each condition separately, highlighting key traits – both positive and challenging – to give you practical insights you can take away.
The session will also include a Q&A after the main presentation, giving you the chance to ask questions and reflect on what you’ve learned.

  • To introduce neurodiversity and briefly look at diagnostic criteria.
  • To present an overview of ADHD, including its subtypes and commonly associated characteristics.
  • To provide an overview of ASD and highlight common characteristics.
  • To briefly look at AuDHD, what it is, and how this can present itself.
  • To introduce Demand Avoidance Profiles and its key characteristics.

This workshop is for parents or any adult who has a caring responsibility for the young person. It is not appropriate for children and young people.
