The Collective

The Collective brings together young people with SEND and participation groups to share their views on key issues and national agendas – because voices are stronger together.

What is the Collective?

The Collective brings together young people aged 13–25 with special educational needs and/or disabilities, alongside participation groups, to share their thoughts and ideas on key national topics. Because voices are stronger when united, The Collective ensures young people are heard by decision-makers, including government departments like the Department for Education (DfE).

We provide opportunities and resources to help young people engage with national agendas, alongside support and development activities to build skills and confidence.

Our regular sessions include:

  • The Collective Power Hour – every other month, where young people contribute directly on national topics, alongside insights from local groups.
  • The Collective Catch Up – alternating months, a chance to share what’s been happening in the groups, build connections across regions, celebrate young people’s impact on local agendas, and explore the topics that matter most to them.
  • The Collective Get Together – an annual in-person and online event .
