Are you a young person with SEND trying to figure out how to manage everyday life at school or college this year? Or maybe you’re a parent or carer to a young person with SEND and want to find ways to best support them through school, college or training?
Our Young People’s Hub has some great resources to help young people navigate their education journey.
Guiding young people with SEND through education can feel challenging, especially during those all-important teenage exam years and then beyond 16 years of age. Many families have questions about what support looks like at this stage, what options are available, and how to help their young person feel confident about the future.
So, to make this journey a little easier, we’ve created a series of articles written especially for young people. These resources are available on our dedicated Young People’s Hub and cover a wide range of SEND in education topics for those aged 13 and above.
On the Hub, young people will find:
The aim is to give young people the tools and knowledge they need to understand themselves, speak up for their needs, and navigate the education system with confidence.
We encourage parents and carers to explore the Hub alongside their young person. Doing so can open up conversations, make choices feel less overwhelming, and help families feel reassured about the support available.
There’s even a dedicated monthly newsletter you can sign-up to, full of the latest news, tips, and real-life experiences of other young people with SEND.
