Kids Hayward Adventure Playground gets a new look thanks to Greystar Europe

What an incredible first week of the renovation project at Kids Hayward Adventure Playground thanks to our friends at Greystar Europe.

Over 20 volunteers from Greystar and their network, have so far put in hours of time and effort improving the indoor and outdoor areas for the children and young people that use the playground.

Some of the changes that the team have made so far have included:

  • Replacing and painting boards on outdoor walkway
  • Filled 2 x 40 yard skips clearing inside and outside to free up more space
  • Indoor and outdoor painting and renovation
  • New electrical sockets throughout the building
  • New kitchen cupboards
  • Removal of a faulty sink and covered in pipework
  • Cleared existing bonfire area and installed new fire pit
  • New Extractor Fan in the laundry room
  • And a deep clean of the entire sit

The playground is located in Islington, London and provides over 130 disabled children and young people with a safe space to play, learn to socialise and support their development.

Kids Corporate Partnerships Manager, Nikki Pinfold, said:

“The teams have made an incredible start on this project and they have much bigger plans. The intention is to create a new football pitch area, new wheelchair-accessible treehouse and much more by the end of 2021. The difference this will make to the children and families that use The Hayward Adventure Playground will be immeasurable. Thank you everyone that has been involved over the last week and during the planning stages of the project and a special thank you to Greystar Europe Ltd, Vision Contracts for all the electrical work, CC Cousins for the lighting installation, Playforce for the fire pit area and Smarter Services for cleaning up after everyone! None of this would have been possible without the help, support and kindness of everyone involved.”

Kids Hayward Adventure Playground Manager, Katy Anderson, said:

“The work that the volunteers have done so far is amazing and the children and young people are going to be blown away when they see the improvements. During what has been a challenging year, we really appreciate Greystar and their volunteers for giving up their time to help give the playground this fantastic makeover. We look forward to welcoming them back again to continue with the project.”

Special thanks to Grace Morgan from Fjeld Consulting who helped with project management along with Greystar.
