Aims of the workshop:

  • To develop understanding of Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), including what it is and how it can present in children and young people.
  • To explore the range of factors that may contribute to EBSA, including emotional, environmental and social influences.
  • To increase awareness of the relationship between EBSA and neurodivergence, and how additional needs may impact a child’s experience of school.
  • To equip parents with practical strategies and approaches to support their child in managing EBSA.
