Our Basingstoke Nursery offers a range of services for both disabled and non-disabled children aged between 3 months and 5 years old. We encourage all children to play together and have fun whilst also promoting vital motor skills and communication development.

At KIDS we focus on each child’s unique characteristics, encouraging them to explore and interact with the world around them. We encourage self-confidence and social skills while also working to stimulate their curiosity and promote active learning.

As part of this service, we also provide support for parents to develop the necessary skills to help care for their children and promote their development.

The nursery is separated into three main rooms:

Cub Caves (Blue Bubble): 3 months-2yrs room with a ratio of 1:3. This room includes a sleep room, nappy changing room and meal time areas. We focus on sensory exploration, physical development, communication and social interaction.

Treetops (Red Bubble): 2-4yrs room with a ratio of 1:4. Here, we focus on all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, developing an understanding of cultures, self and expanding experiences. Supporting learning through play we develop imagination, communication and knowledge.

Rainforest (Green Bubble): 3-5yrs room with a ratio of 1:8. Our focus in Rainforest is on all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, promoting independence, gross and fine motor skills, communication and language. We also ensure our children are prepared for their transition to school.

All children have access to our garden areas and outdoor learning plays a fundamental part of their day.

Sensory Room

We are very proud of our sensory room which was opened in 2019 and is much loved by all of our children. As well as being a fun and safe space for everyone (including staff!), it is primarily used to help those who have learning difficulties, developmental disabilities or sensory impairments. By exploring the different lights, sounds and soft play objects, children learn to interact with the world around them in a safe environment that builds up their confidence and their abilities. It also helps to calm children and assists staff to identify what the children like or don’t like.

Parrot Room

We also have a separate space allocated for speech and language.  This is a quiet room where children and their key worker can utilise the many resources to help encourage communication skills.

"I couldn't recommend this nursery enough... literally no words can express how amazing this nursery has been. Beautiful setting lots of space for children to play..., the staff are marvellous, the director is amazing. My son has autism and usually I'll be terrified to leave him any other place, but this nursery provides brilliant support to him from speech therapy to sensory games etc. They keep me in the loop all the time and are very helpful at every stage of development and progression into primary school. During Covid19 they were very supportive, sent activity packs to parent homes and did check-ins. Basically its the best nursery I've come across. Highly recommended."

“The staff at the nursery are friendly, helpful and always willing to listen to parents. I like that they want to go the extra mile to help support each child's individual needs.”

"There are multiple occasions where you and your team went above and beyond, and we felt you had a genuine and sincere interest in our son at the heart of all your efforts."

"The greatest concern for every parent is to leave your child with someone else and wonder how they will cope but at Kids I personally feel my child is happy and she enjoys coming to nursery."

“The Autism diagnostic process can be a difficult and overwhelming time for parents of children going through this. I have been enormously impressed with Jane and her team who go the extra mile in supporting parents in their journey. Thank you so much KIDS nursery for all the wonderful support you have given and continue to give.”

"I have worked with KIDS Nursery for a number of years and have always enjoyed working with the staff, parents and children. Jane and her team are always welcoming and strive to make visitors feel valued and supported. I would describe the team as organised, efficient and highly knowledgeable about the children in their care. There is an understanding of keeping abreast about current interventions, and effective liaison with outside agencies with regard to the level and the type of support required for those children who need it."
