Sessional worker to be available to work during school holidays at Wakefield school.

Opportunities to support after school clubs as well.

Role Description:

Are you looking for a job that is full of activity, is sometimes challenging, and always satisfying?

Then being a Play Worker on our Play scheme may be just what you are looking for! KIDS the national charity and leading service provider for disabled children is looking for Play Workers within Wakefield to work on their play schemes over the school holidays.

The service supports children with special educational needs and disability to provide them with childcare, short breaks, access to holiday clubs and play schemes to meet the individual needs of disabled children/young people and their families.

As a Play Worker with KIDS you can help disabled children and young people access and enjoy activities whilst giving their families a much-needed break from their caring role or allow their parents to continue working.

If you do have experience of working with disabled children or young people – great! However, it is more important that you are friendly, caring, willing to learn and enjoying being with children and young people. We are looking for people that will help children to have fun by supporting children to build dens, go on a bouncy castle or enjoy a water fight to name but a few activities. KIDS will provide you with training, and you will be fully supported throughout your employment.

You will need stamina, enthusiasm, a positive outlook and a commitment to providing a high quality service to disabled children. Working hours can be flexible and will be within school holidays in the Wakefield district.

KIDS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore we expect all workers and employees to share this commitment.

Job descriptions, person specification and job applications are available on line on www.kids.org.uk. If you apply and you have the skills and experience we are looking for you will be invited to an interview.
