Samantha Cameron today helped launch our campaign, Give KIDS Time, by attending a coffee morning at our Hackney Playground.

The campaign focuses on time as a vital currency. Our Short Breaks allow children and young people to have some fun and quality time with a qualified KIDS support worker; our playgrounds allow them some great play opportunities and the chance to be themselves. For parents time is important because KIDS provides some time off from caring duties, perhaps time spent with their other children, doing the shopping or just time for a bath.

Samantha joined mums who use KIDS services for coffee to share experiences of how KIDS helps families. She had the opportunity to hear from mums what they value most about the support they get from KIDS.

Andreia Vieira, whose daughter Julieta is autistic and attends a KIDS play scheme for babies and toddlers said “The priceless support we receive from KIDS has made such a huge difference not just to Julieta but to the whole family. Just seeing her bloom has been a joy and this is all down to the amazing support that we receive.”

Caroline Stevens, KIDS Chief Executive commented, “I would like to say a huge thank you to Samantha Cameron from everyone at KIDS. We appreciate her support in our vital work helping all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations.”

Samantha Cameron commented “My son Ivan had a profound disability and I will always remember how helpless David and I felt when he was born. it has been wonderful to help launch the Give KIDS Time campaign and I wish it well. They are a fantastic charity and I am very pleased to be able to help raise awareness for them and meet some of the families they help”.
