Meet the fundraiser – Yorkshire & Humber Can you introduce yourself? My name is Claire Crosbie. I have worked for KIDS as a Senior Regional Fundraiser for eight years and I really enjoy being part of such a great charity. What has been your biggest accomplishment at KIDS? I have achieved so much while working at KIDS but my biggest accomplishment to date was in March 2021, when I successfully raised over £1 million for our local services. I've loved seeing in person the difference this has made to so many families in Hull, Wakefield and parts of the East Riding of Yorkshire. What do your work days look like? My role is so varied. I could be organising an event, writing a large fundraising application, working with a local company as their ‘Charity of the Year’, supporting with the London Marathon or other challenge events, writing stories and talking to families to share on our social media, delivering collection tubs, shaking a bucket at an event, hosting a tombola, writing reports and evaluations, managing budgets. No two days are the same! Is there a corporate relationship you are especially proud of? I am most proud of the relationship we built with Cranswick Country Foods, as it has continued to grow for the past 15 years. Every two years Cranswick Country Foods host a Charity Golf Day and, to date, have raised over £250 thousand for some of Hull’s most vulnerable children and young people. This money is crucial and has changed the lives of so many families whose disabled children we have supported over the years. How can other people get involved? I am always looking for the community to get involved. This can look like: Helping to spread the word about the great work KIDS do. Becoming a 'collection tin hero'.
