What is Connect and Be Heard?

Connect and Be Heard is a monthly online group for young people with SEN/D, aged 12-25 and living in Warwickshire.

This is an opportunity for you to meet new people, take part in a range of activities to improve your wellbeing, and use your voice on the things that matter to you.

I get stressed a lot and feel alone. Now I have ideas to help me be less stressed and I have a place where I can be with other people.

When do you meet?

We have two groups which meet monthly, so please pop in and say hi!

  • 12-17 year olds meet the second Thursday of every month.
  • 17-25 year olds meet the last Thursday of every month.

All sessions take place from 5:30pm  7pm via Microsoft Teams. You will receive a session link via email after signing-up.

What does a session look like?

Every session starts with a warm welcome and an ice-breaker, followed by what we call focus work. This is time for you to focus on your wellbeing (like how you can manage your stress or treat yourself better) through fun activities. Afterwards, there is some free time for you to chat with other young people, ask any questions you might have or bring up concerns.

I've spoken to people I never normally would have, it's cool.

Soon we'll also be introducing 'participation' to our session, which means you will have a chance to share your views about different topics and hopefully influence our government.

How much does it cost?

This service is completely free.
