Update on Future Collaboration between KIDS and Smile A message from Caroline Stevens, Chief Executive at KIDS and Steven Clarke, Chairman at Smile: In our last communication we informed you of our intention to explore opportunities for closer working relationships with the ultimate aim of Smile becoming an integral part of KIDS. Having explored a variety of partnership options it is envisaged that Smile will become a wholly owned subsidiary of KIDS on or around 1st October 2017. We are following a strict legal process supported by the Charity Commission and our legal advisers and this is informing our decision making and guiding us through various stages including formal approval by both Boards of Trustees. It will be a long but rewarding process which ultimately will lead to a fully integrated dynamic organisation ready for the challenges of the ever changing external environment. This is a great opportunity for both KIDS and Smile as it will enable us to expand and broaden the services we offer and develop our work across four key localities, Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and West Sussex. Both organisations have key areas of expertise that complement each other and will enable us to deliver even more services for disabled children and their families.
