KIDS produces a new guide to Inclusion and easy to use checklist for Playday 2014.

This year’s national Playday will take place on Wednesday August 6 2014. Thousands of children and their families will have the opportunity to gather together and play at hundreds of community events across the UK.

At KIDS we want to make sure that disabled children, young people and their families don’t miss out on what is happening.

We believe that if you get Playday right for disabled children and young people, then it means you are getting it right for everyone.

And we would like this year’s events to be even more welcoming, accessible and inclusive for disabled children and young people. To aid this we have produced a simple checklist to support anyone who is organising a Playday event to enable more children to have the opportunity to join in all the fun.

It is free to download and use, so please share it with as many people as possible!

Playday is coordinated by PlayBoard NI, Play Scotland, Play Wales and Play England. The 2014 theme is: ‘Play is….’  spreading the word about why play is crucial for children and young people’s health, wellbeing and happiness.
