CHRISTMAS came early for Jack on Sunday (27 November) when he attended an exclusive party for families supported by the charity ‘KIDS’ at Disney Store’s flagship location on Oxford Street, London.

The event was hosted by children’s TV star Gemma Arrowsmith, and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse were also on hand to help spread some Disney magic.

Fifteen disabled children supported by KIDS, including three-year-old Jack from Hackney and his family, were treated to a private shopping spree in store and also enjoyed face painting, and the chance to write their own Letter to Santa. Younger guests were also invited to dress up as their favourite Disney character, and Jack, being a huge Toy Story fan, chose a ‘Woody’ costume.

Jack is three years old and has Down's Syndrome. KIDS has offered Jack and his family extensive support over the past year, helping them through the process of obtaining an Education, Health and Care Plan so that he can access a nursery and school that will support all of his needs.

Jack’s mum, Gillian, said: “We had an amazing day at the Disney Store party – it was such a special experience and a treat for Jack.”

“It was nice to meet and spend time with other families with disabled children supported by KIDS, and of course Jack loved meeting Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse.”
