Early Years sessions at the KIDS Orchard Centre offer support to children aged 0-5 years with a range of disabilities. We support the children through play and following the early year’s foundation stage, setting targets and realistic goals that the children can reach.

How does the service work?

The services works alongside other professionals to offer support to the parents who may be going through a difficult time of diagnosis. During the session there are many activities available and access to the hall, sensory room, soft play room and outdoor play. The sessions start and end with nursery rhythms and songs, and have time for a healthy snack/ lunch half way through.

The young children benefit from coming to the centre as it is a new environment and learn not to be completely reliable on parents / careers always around. The young children thrive on the activities and facilities available. It encourages learning through play and exploring new things.

Who is the service for?

The service is for parents / careers with disabled children to access a session with specialised care (e.g. gastronomy feeding). This benefits the parents as they are confident the needs of their young children are met but also gives the parents respite time. The young children benefit from learning and developing in a safe secure environment but also an environment with stimulating equipment and sensory play.
