Our Short Breaks service recently attended a circus put on by Circus Starr, an independent, charitable organisation that supports disadvantaged and disabled children across the UK. Three young people and three KIDS short break workers attended the event. Before heading into the show, the young people had a chance to meet each other and discuss their expectations and everyone was relaxed and excited to see the show!

The circus was filled with lots of people, loud music and lights, but this did not faze the young people. Everyone enjoyed watching the fascinating line-up of acrobats, aerial performers, jugglers, clowns and contortionists. The young people particularly enjoyed the dancing show by the Minions and the clown act.

One young person, who struggles with high anxiety levels but was very outspoken and relaxed throughout the day  said "I felt very emotional watching the performances especially the acrobat on the ribbon. I felt like i could see her aura and she looked so beautiful."

After the show, the group had lunch and discussed their favourite parts of the show. It was a great day for each young person, and was an experience that they will never forget.
