With four weeks to go until Katie has to take to the streets of Bath and run 13.1 miles along the River Avon, she lets us know how her training is going.

How much did you run this week?

I have ran 14k this week, around East Bristol.

What did you struggle with this week ?

Running 14k in one go – I had to stop a lot, especially up the hills!

What are you most proud of achieving this week?

Running 14k in one run! The furthest I’ve ever ran!

What do you hope to achieve in your next training session?

I am due to do a short run tomorrow of around 5-6k but hoping to do 15k at the weekend which I’m pretty nervous about.

Three weeks to go and Katie is increasing her miles with every training session.

How much did you run this week?

Earlier in the week I ran 5.5km, I skipped a long run at the weekend due to it being my birthday!

What did you struggle with this week?

Getting back into running, I had a gap of 5 days so dragging myself out on a dark rainy evening earlier in the week was not too easy.

What are you most proud of achieving this week?

I haven’t achieved a long run this week but I am happy I managed to get myself out despite the weather and overindulging on food at the weekend!

What do you hope to achieve in your next training session?

I am due to do a short run in a bit of around 7k but hoping to achieve my longest run of 18k at the weekend – this will be my last long run before race day which is pretty nerve-wracking!
