KIDS Wylde Green family centre helps children to play, develop independence and prepare them for starting school.

We currently support children aged 0-5 years with a range of disabilities. These include global Developmental Delay, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy  and Prader-Willi Syndrome to name a few.

Our specialist service adapts to the needs of each child and mainstream nurseries cannot usually offer the level of staff support or specialist provision that children with complex disabilities need. Without our nursery the children would not be able to spend time in this type of educational setting.

The early years work that we provide gives these children a far better chance of succeeding when they reach school age as they will have a knowledge and understanding of succeeding in a learning environment. They will have experience of being part of a group, social interactions, routines and stimulating learning activities.

Children’s learning is also enhanced through being cared for by staff who are trained to offer Portage, an educational service for pre-school children with additional needs and their families.  It supports the development of play, communication, relationships and learning for young children within the family.

‘KIDS is a lovey place and provides superb sensory play session where both parents and children can be themselves’
