How does the service work?

Y2G Youth group:

Our youth groups offer new and varied activities for young people. The sessions in Gosport are often planned by the young people themselves, and designed to give them a sense of achievement as well as develop their social and life skills. The groups often explore different activities within the local area using public transport, giving the young people more confidence in day-to-day situations. Activities range from going swimming and ice skating, to going out for group dinners. The club has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and provides a safe and secure environment for young people can meet up and chill out with their friends, and make new ones!

Some of the cool things we have tried include:

  • Dance workshops
  • Anti bullying workshops
  • Games
  • Quiz nights
  • Art and craft
  • Movie nights
  • Pool Tournaments

There are snack machines onsite where young people can purchase drinks and snacks if they wish.

Saturday fun club and playscheme:

We also offer a Saturday fun club and holiday playscheme. We try to offer activities that are new to the young people and that are going to give them a sense of achievement and the chance to develop their social and life skills. The activity sessions offer the chance to stay reconnected with friends and keep some structure to their holiday periods. We go out and about each session to different places within the local area, often using public transport.

The sessions are planned using suggestions made by the young people; we are always looking for new and exciting things to do.

Some of our recent trips include lazer quest, bowling, going to theme parks and the zoo/safari parks.

Cooking club meets once a month at St Vincent College, Gosport.
