KIDS domiciliary care provides trained staff to support children and young people in their own home. The Wokingham sitting service includes help with day to day activities including, washing, dressing and eating, support to get ready for school or  college, support to relax at home. KIDS is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

How does the service work?

Families are referred to the service via the Disabled Children’s Team or Children’s Social Care. Families are allocated a fixed amount of hours per month (usually 5 hours), the families then contact Berkshire Office to arrange when they want the hours.  This is done on a monthly basis, a month in advance.   Once a referral is received KIDS staff will book a home visit with the family to complete the child/young person’s portfolio, to carry out a risk assessment and to answer any questions the family may have.  This information enables us to pair the right member of staff to the family and introductions will then follow.
