We are looking forward to welcoming you to the KIDS New Orleans’ Mardi Gras Party. This fantastic evening will start at 7:30pm with the opportunity to look around the Jameel Prize exhibition, open for just one hour only.
The soundtrack to the evening will come from our fabulous Mardi Gras band, The A Team!
Bowl food, canapés and cocktails will be served throughout the evening alongside themed stall food.
Don’t forget to visit ‘Bourbon Street’ our very own shopping area to snap up some fantastic prizes, with further ‘money can’t buy’ experiences and gifts available during the live auction with auctioneer Ed Rising. See below for a sneak peak of our wonderful auction lots.
Chairs of the Gala Committee, Charlotte Artus and Brenda Vandamme will be your party hosts and The A Team will finish off our evening in style with more live Jazz party music to get you dancing.
Carriages will depart by 11:30pm.

The A Team Band
For one night only, The A Team are coming together to give our party the greatest New Orleans soundtrack you’ll hear this side of the Atlantic! Take a look at the bands biography’s below to see how great they all are!
Simon Bates – Saxophone / Clarinet / Musical Director
Professor of Saxophone for the Royal Marines, Simon Bates is known for his stylistic versatility and instrumental prowess. His playing features on countless adverts, film scores, television shows, theme tunes and pop recordings. Simon has worked with a wide variety of people including Kylie Minogue, Jamie Cullum, Dizzee Rascal, Lulu, Rick Wakeman, Chaka Khan, Seal, Rick Astley, Alexander Armstrong and Bette Midler. He appears frequently on TV and has performed around the world in a wide variety of settings from the O2 Arena and Eiffel Tower to Ronnie Scott’s and the Albert Hall; and as a soloist with large ensembles including Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Paul ‘Harry’ Harris – Piano
Born in London, Harry began by studying the classics but has been involved in jazz and cabaret all his life. He has accompanied almost everybody in the business from David Bowie and Gloria Estefan to Beau Bridges and Will Smith! Harry had his own show on BBC Radio, was the resident pianist on Channel 4's 'Big Breakfast' for 5 years and then co-ran the band with Simon on BBC 1's 'Johnny Vaughan Tonight'. His solo show has been seen on all 6 continents and he was recently chosen to star on the maiden voyage of the Queen Mary. He is a regular on the BBC’s ‘Friday Night is Music Night’ and recently featured with legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli.
Dave Ital - Guitar
Well known on the live and session scenes, guitarist Dave Ital is respected for his flair and musicality. Over the years Dave has played and recorded with many artists including Anastacia, Level 42, Craig David, Sugababes, Liberty X, Tom Jones, MPeople , Bryan Ferry, Rick Astley, Beverly Knight, Gary Barlow, Candi Staton, Lulu, Bobby Womack and Incognito.
Dave Swift – Bass
Known primarily as the bass player for Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Dave has appeared on countless TV shows including ‘Later’, ‘Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush’ and ‘Top of the Pops’. His CV reads like a who’s who of modern music and includes artists such as George Harrison, Paul McCartney, BB King, Eric Clapton, Kylie Minogue, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Sting and Tom Jones.
David Laudat – Vocals
David has a fine versatile voice and a very sharp image. He has had chart success as lead vocalist with the US band The Bucketheads and has provided backing vocals for artists such as Lionel Ritchie, Louise, Daryl Hall, Beverley Knight, Ronan Keating, Dave Gilmour, Take That, Lisa Stansfield and Ben E. King. In addition to performing, David is considered the UK’s top vocal coach working with acts including The Sugababes, The Spice Girls, Westlife, All Saints and Liberty X.
Mike 'Ossie' Osborn – Drums
Mike 'Ossie' Osborn is an experienced player in many different areas of the music business. He has performed, recorded and toured with many top artistes and Orchestras and has worked on numerous television productions and West End shows. He has composed and devised works for theatre, dance and television and is much in demand as a tutor. Ossie has recently been working with Leslie Garrett and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
