Short Breaks are for disabled children and young people; to relieve the strain on families and reduce stress for parents whilst giving the child or young person an opportunity to get away from the family home, enjoy new experiences, make new friends and meet new people.
A Short Break means that your child or young person can enjoy and experience the activities that they are interested in with the support of a skilled Short Break Worker and that you can take a break confident that your child is with a trained worker.
Along with other services we provide, we deliver well over 50,000 hours of short breaks each year to disabled children and young people currently covering the the following local authority areas :
Our Short Breaks are delivered through our Direct Short Break Service using the disabledchildren.org.uk online portal for Short Breaks or our telephone helpine.
It doesn’t matter if you are using direct payments, a personal budget, or hours assigned to you by the local authority, our Direct Short Break Service makes it easy for you to find a worker in your area and to book a break.
