Volunteer
Volunteering gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and make a huge difference to our pioneering work.
All volunteers will be required to provide references and are subjected to an enhanced CRB check along with an informal interview process.
KIDS provide volunteers with induction, on-going training and support. We pay out of pocket expenses and travel allowance incurred for carrying out duties on our behalf.
For an application pack for any of the positions below please call the KIDS West Midlands office on 0121 355 2707 or email general enquiries to: enquiries.westmidlands@kids.org.uk

In applying for any of the volunteering roles you confirm your eligibility to work in the UK. Please note that legislation dictates that all non EU nationals are required to be in possession of a valid work permit.
We are legally obliged to ask you to provide evidence of your right of abode in the UK. If you are successful with your volunteer application we will ask you to provide appropriate documents, such as your passport, visa, work permit or birth certificate in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
KIDS values diversity and we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
A quote from one of our volunteers - Volunteering for kids is not only fun" commented Ian, "but the look on the childrens faces brings a sence of purpose to what we have done and it pulls everyone together for a good day out".
Ian and the rest of the team clearly loved their time at KIDS and volunteering.
"The difference it can make to a charity like KIDS is incredible and the work we have done has bought a new lease of life to the garden"
KIDS value the work volunteers do for the organisation. We need help from time to time with all sorts of jobs from painting a wall, fixing a shelf, 'hands on' childcare, answering the phone, admin tasks and more.
Volunteers share their time, skills and expertise with us and hopefully enjoy the experience, make new friends and extend their knowledge.
Volunteering is a two way process with much to be gained by both parties.
Share the success of:
- Ernst and Young's community team in decorating the creche and seasonal tidy up of the respite caravan facility last year.
- Cadburys and all that they will be bringing.
- Work placements for young people embarking on future careers in childcare
