KIDS Direct Short Breaks case study published by the CWDC

20 Aug 2010

The Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) has published a series of case studies about Short Break workers. The series looks at how wide-ranging and rewarding the job can be and includes a case study from KIDS Direct Short Breaks. Here, one of our befriending workers, Aisha (21), explains her first day nerves, fun on the job, and about becoming a role model to a young disabled person, stating:

“I’ve learned about myself from being with Georgina and not to make judgments about people because of their disability. I think my age, I’m 21, helped Georgina to respond to me and I hope I am a good role model for her.”
