Relationships and Sexuality
KIDS run three groups in the South West for for young disabled people to discuss Relationships and Sexuality.
The groups are in South Gloucestrshire, Bath and Bristol and meet once every three weeks and are for young people aged 13 - 25
The groups are discussion based and planned around the needs of the young people.
As part of the Relationships and Sexulaity project KIDS also delivers:
- Nationwide groups for young disabled people – KIDS runs issue-based groups for young disabled people aged 13 to 25. We currently have groups in the South West, in South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Bath, and in the North West, in North Stockport.
- Parent forum – KIDS runs a parent forum for parents of young disabled people in the South West who come together to discuss issues around relationships and sexuality.
- Professionals' training – KIDS delivers training to managers and practitioners working with young disabled people aged 8 to 25 who have an interest in working around relationships and sexuality in an empowering way.
- Young person-led relationships and sexuality resources – A group of young disabled people in the South West have been granted some funding from the Boshier-Hinton Foundation to develop their own resources around relationships and sexuality for other young disabled people.
