Parents Influencing Group
The Parents Influencing Disabled Children’s Services group has been formed to:
- Provide a two-way link between parents and the Hampshire County Council Multi-Agency Disabled Children’s Strategy Group
- Influence the two year strategic plan of the Multi-Agency Strategy Group
- Publicise the work of the strategy group
- Spread the net to link with other parents
- Signpost parents to services and links to voluntary organisations
- Encourage parents participation in the development of services.
What will they do?
Over the coming months the group will develop an action plan of targets for the future and set one as a priority.
Then what?
The group will then work closely with their own co-ordinator, Bridget Bevis (funded by the Learning Partnership Board) who will support the group to drive forward their chosen objectives.
So what?
The best way to come to the right decisions for the future is to ask the experts and in the case of children with a disability—that's you, their parents and carers.
What can I do?
By voicing your opinions through the Parents Influencing Disabled Children’s Services Group you can make sure that they represent a wide range of disabilities and different geographic areas of Hampshire.
Currently the newly formed group has reps from Gosport, Romsey and Basingstoke, but they need more people from all areas of Hampshire.
Could it be you?
When do the group meet?
Once every other month during the daytime. The days change to ensure they suit as many parents as possible.
Where do they meet?
At the moment the meetings are held in Eastleigh because that is a central point but this may change if parents find it difficult to get there.
