Holiday Grant

The Holiday Grant scheme is delivered by KIDS on behalf of the local authority with funding from Aiming High for Disabled Children. The scheme has been set up to enable families of severely disabled children to have a short break.

The amount of grant requested per family can be up to and including £370.


Can I get a Holiday Grant

To be eligible for a Holiday Grant you should be:

a resident in Hull, and the parent or carer of a severely disabled child under the age of 18 in receipt of:

The high rate care component of Disability Living Allowance

Or

the high rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance

Or

the middle rate care component of Disability Living Allowance for a child who requires a high level of support in three or more of the following areas:

  • Personal care and supervision
  • Access to social activities
  • Education
  • Communication
  • Specialist equipment
  • Medical or therapeutic treatment/condition management

Additional circumstances will be considered and therefore we also encourage applications from families who have two or more disabled children who on their own do not meet the criteria but the impact of caring for these children makes it difficult for the family to access a break without additional support.
