What is the Parent Partnership Service?
Support and advice is given to parents/carers whose children have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Information on Special Educational Needs is provided independently and neutrally.
Guidance is given to help parents make appropriate, informed choices for their children’s education.
Who can use the Service?
Parents/Carers of children who have special educational needs and are aged 0-19 years.
Parents/Carers of children.
How does the Parent Partnership Service work?
The service is free and confidential.
Parents views are listened to and valued.
Meetings with parents are arranged at home or at venues convenient to parents.
The service responds flexibly to meet individual parents needs.
The service provides access to an Independent Parental Supporter.
What can the service do?
The service helps to explain:
- The special educational needs system.
- Parents roles and rights.
- Assessment and provision.
- Professional reports.
- The roles of other agencies.
- Educational options and choices.
- The service can support parents at School Meetings, Annual Reviews and Tribunals.
