Equipment Project
KIDS is working in partnership with Birmingham City and Sandwell MBC’s Early Years and Childcare Development Partnerships (EYDCP) to support registered Childminders.
Childminders can purchase or loan a range of safety, play and other equipment they may need to ensure the safety and enjoyment of children in their care.
The Equipment Project also supports Childminders to facilitate inclusive childcare by providing access to specialist equipment and training to support a disabled child’s individual requirements. The project has close links to KIDS Childminders Inclusion Project; providing short breaks for disabled children aged 0 – 14 years across Birmingham.
Larger equipment such as hoists and play equipment can be delivered to homes for a deposit of £50. Orders over £50 can be paid for in monthly instalment. Other basic equipment such as smoke alarms, safety gates and first aid kits remain stock items and can also be purchased from the project.
