Childminders Inclusion Project
KIDS are working in partnership with Birmingham City Council and parents and carers offering a short break with a registered childminder. This is funded by Carers Grant, and there are 200 placements available for Disabled Children and Young People.
The purpose of the project is to offer the opportunity of inclusive childcare with a registered childminder. All the childminders are OFSTED registered, subject to a Criminal Record Bureau Check, and hold a first aid certificate as a minimum.
The service is offered City Wide.
Referrals can be made by parents and carers, or via DCSS at Harris House or Hawthorne House, Child Development Centres, Children Centres, nurseries, schools, G’P’s, health visitors, family support workers, childminders, or anyone working with the family.
Cost of Service: This service is free
How to Refer: Referrals can be made from Harris House the Children’s Disability Team, Children’s Centres, Child Development Centres and Childminders via the child care link.
Opening Times: 09.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday
