Early Years Short Breaks

 

The Early Years Short Break Service is a package of care and support for those children with complex and significant child care needs. Breaks are tailored around the children’s needs & abilities with various activities occurring during the session.  The groups at KIDS West Midlands include a Social Interaction and Communication Group and a Sensory Group.

Children Centre visits


Weekly play sessions for disabled children at Castle Vale, Doddington Green Golden Hillock and Sutton Coldfield Centres. Please speak to one of the Early Years Practitioners regarding the days and times of these sessions.


Other services which may be incorporated are as follows:

  • Home visits to provide ideas to ensure children reach their full potential, early intervention and developmental play.
  • Visits to community play provision to provide support and advice to early years professionals.
  • Supported access to leisure and social activities.
  • Fun weeks during most school holidays. (This may be subject to additional funding)
  • Drop in facilities.

How to Refer: Referrals usually via Birmingham City Council's Specialist Disabled Childrens Team at Harris House or direct to KIDS Regional Office
