Sandwell Aiming High Project

The service aims to enable disabled children and young people to enjoy ‘ordinary’ activities including those that their non-disabled peers may have more access and freedom to experience. This includes support in community and leisure activities, inclusive of extended schools.

The service provides 1-to-1 support, for two hours a week, with the child or young person being given their own worker who will help them with whatever activities or events they wish to access- being led by the needs and wants of the child/ young person or their family. We aim to help the child or young person to develop a sense of independence and life skills, while having fun out in the community.

It is for children and young people aged 5-19 including those children with:

•  Severe autistic spectrum disorder
• Complex medical needs
• Moving and handling needs (specifically aged 11+)
• Challenging behaviour
• Severe disabilities (specifically aged 14+)

Opening Times: This service is available anytime and any day.
