Grade 3, FTE Salary £31,251, 21 hours per week

The Position

As External Communications Manager, you’ll help us enhance our profile at a national level. You’ll be responsible for developing and managing a media relations programme and press office, the KIDS website and online PR on external websites. It’s an opportunity to work with key journalists and act as a spokesperson for the organisation. In fact, you’ll get to meet with celebrities and high-profile patrons of KIDS, in order to generate positive coverage and improve awareness of KIDS.

Having worked in a press office as well as external comms management, you’ll already have what it takes: great editorial contacts, excellent writing, editing and proof-reading skills, and knowledge of media databases. What’s more, you’ve managed web content before, used online PR and social networking tools, and directed media relations campaigns.
