Case Study – Charity of the Year                                                                                                         

In July 2008 KIDS was delighted to become the Charity Partner of Lawrence Graham LLP (LG).  After a fast-paced year of staff involvement in KIDS running and challenge events and creative fundraisers such as ‘The Big Easter Raffle’ and ‘Mixology’ evenings, LG funded the installation of a professional-style football pitch at KIDS Hayward Adventure Playground and the recruitment of a Hydrotherapist at KIDS Adventure Play Hackney.  LG extended the partnership and raised over £100,000! 

KIDS interviewed LG’s Head of Charity Committee, Jenny Forward, to find out what it was about KIDS that made LG partner with us:

Hi Jenny, as part of the KIDS Family, can you tell us why LG decided to support KIDS back in summer 2008?
Whilst going through our Charity Partner selection process it quickly became 

apparent that LG could really make a difference for KIDS.  Our focus was to support a small, local charity and KIDS stood out because of their professionalism and diversity of projects, not just for disabled children but for their brothers, sisters and families as well.  KIDS truly cares and understands the need to support the whole family.

How have LG employees responded to partnering with KIDS?
With ever increasing enthusiasm!

How have you enjoyed working with the KIDS Team?
We have gained immense pleasure from the partnership.  The fact that we have been able to help on both a personal and financial level has been extremely rewarding.

What’s been the best thing about the LG/KIDS Partnership?
Finally being able to get the Hydrotherapy Pool opened so that the children who truly need this therapy can at last benefit.

What’s your favourite memory of the LG/KIDS Partnership to date?
Seeing the children playing on the Astroturf pitch and queuing to take their turn to play.
