Independent Support is a national programme commissioned by the Department of Education to support parents and young people through the recent education reforms; particularly in relation to those transitioning from Statements of SEN to Education, Health and Care Plans and to support those newly entering the SEN assessment process.
Independent Support Practitioners will provide accurate and informative time limited help and advice to any family or young person going through a statutory Education Health and Care needs assessment and will offer support during the process of developing an Education Health and Care plan. Independent Support Practitioners will also offer support to parents and/or young people with statements of SEN and Learning Disability Assessments, who are transitioning over to the new Education, Health and Care assessment and planning process.
We are looking for two full time practitioners to cover the Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Solihull with one role being based in Dudley and one in Wylde Green. The roles are mainly outreach based so car /driver owner essential.
Although these are full time roles we are will consider job share of 2 x 18hrs.
