Training and Consultancy
Our Training and Consultancy Unit (TCU) supports and promotes the professional development of the children and young people’s workforce to ensure the inclusion of disabled children and young people in the services they use.
We offer a range of training covering inclusion, inclusive play, behaviour, communication, relationships and sexuality, equality and diversity and disability equality and awareness. These can be commissioned by organisations and local authorities. This year, we introduced an open access system where individuals can book places on a number of courses. In addition, we are developing a tailored approach to combine our training with existing induction programmes for staff both face to face and online.
The Training Unit also offers bespoke training and workshops to meet an organisation’s specific requirements, as well as consultancy packages covering all aspects of inclusion and inclusive play.
We have recently become an OCN accredited centre and over the next 12 months will begin the process of accrediting a number of our existing courses. We will also extend the ‘open access’ offer across England, including the following courses: Let’s All Play Outdoors, Relationships and Sexuality, Extending Inclusion Out of School, Let’s all Talk about Behaviour and Let’s All Communicate.
