Aura Gas steps in to support KIDS in Hampshire

We’d like to say a huge thank you from everyone at KIDS in Fareham to Gary Robinson, the Managing Director of local gas firm Aura Gas. He generously donated £4,000 to support the Havant Young People’s Project youth club for the next 12 months and has contributed to summer days out for our young people to enjoy. Chris Garner Smith’s epic journey for disabled young people

Chris Garner Smith from Disney completed an epic challenge at the weekend - he cycled hundreds of kilometres from London to Paris to raise money for KIDS.

He tells his story:

We set off from Trafalgar Square at 3pm on Friday 3 July and caught the 11pm ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe, which arrived at 5am local time. We set off on the Avenue Verte until Forges les Eaux, where we had breakfast, then took roads for the rest of the journey. Temperatures soared in the 30’s centigrade and I drank over 10 litres en route (and burnt over 10,000 calories). The journey was 270km door-to door (100km UK & 170km France) and 13.5 hours in the saddle. No punctures for anybody, no mechanical problems, nor any accidents! I chose KIDS charity because after (re)joining the Company, it is one of Disney UK’s preferred children’s charities. I also personally wanted to be able to help disabled children have fun with sport / mobility.”

Thank you Chris, your hard work raised £1,000 to support disabled young people and their families!

Doing it for the KIDS in Hull

Hull was brought alive with a day of fun and games for all the family at the beginning of July with their popular ‘Doing it for the KIDS’ event. Frozen characters, face painting, reptiles, live music and much more made for a fantastic event. You can find out more and get involved in KIDS Yorkshire & Humber fundraising activity over on Facebook.
