We celebrated in style with our annual fundraising Gala earlier in February.
Everyone dressed up in their best Oriental glitz and glam to celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Berkeley Hotel in Lodnon.
Guests were entertained by traditional Chinese musicians and lion dancers whilst enjoying a drinks reception before being led into dinner by the lion.
Two of our young ambassadors gave fantastic speeches to explain how KIDS has helped them personally.
Rhodri, 17, spoke about his struggles with autism. "When I look back at when I first went to KIDS I was quiet, shy and found social situations very difficult. Through a wide range of play opportunities I was able to increase my awareness of others and how to interact. I grew in confidence. And now I am stood here in front of you all".
"KIDS has inspired me to be more and do more. I can make a difference. I have real dreams and aspirations, and the opportunities KIDS gives me drive me to achieve". Georgia, also 17 with cerebral palsy moved the room with her motivation.
Both received standing ovations.
A silent auction ran throughout the evening and a live auction was held at the end of dinner, both boasting fantastic prizes such as Chelsea Champions League tickets and Lunch with the Lords up for grabs.
The evening was held in support of our adventure playgrounds and the incredible service they provide to disabled children and their families.
Thanks to all attended, it was a huge success.
