After school clubs at the Orchard Centre provide a safe, secure and fun environment, where children can relax, chill out and have fun doing new and exciting activities outside of the home or school environment. Activities vary each week, children thrive on the activities and free play socialising with their peers

How does the service work?

This service works from the Orchard centre, they have 2 set activities out a week, one main activity (e.g. potting plants) then a second activity (e.g. Lego / outside bikes / paints / cars) and also access to the hall, soft play, sensory room and outdoor area. During the session there is time for snack and always accessibility to drinks.

Who is the service for?

Children with disabilities access the centre from the surrounding area. The children benefit been around their peers participating in fun activities as well as having access to the hall / soft play / sensory room and outdoor play. This service also benefits the parents / careers and other siblings giving them respite and a chance to bond with their other children.  The children on session gain a lot from the activities put on, from trying new things to improving skills such as co-ordination, team building and confidence.
