KIDS have been commissioned by Hull City Council to deliver weekly structured Play and Development sessions within Children’s Centres in the city. This service forms part of the Council’s Family and Settings Support Team (FASST).

The Play and Development sessions are for families of pre-school children (aged 0-5 years) with disabilities and additional needs who may benefit from attending small group sessions structured to promote their development.

How does the service work?

They are specific groups for children with a range of impairments including complex health needs who would benefit from a more sensory approach to learning.

Activities may include: sensory play and the use of sensory equipment, craft and messy play, music, singing and friendship circles, outdoor play, social snack time as well as opportunities for one to one support during the session.
We work in partnership with both parents/carers and professionals involved, working on individual learning plans/targets, as well as offering support and advice to parents and carers.
