After School ClubThe After School Club is accessed by disabled children from both Heathfield School and other schools in the area. It provides the children space to run around and burn off energy with their friends after a day at school.
FacilitiesWe have use of the large playing field, the extensive play equipment and the opportunity to ride the bikes and tricycles around in a safe environment. The children have time to chill out and relax in the sensory room, read, listen to, or look at books in the library/quiet area, can play with the wide range of toys, or can choose from activities, such as arts and crafts or interactive games. A snack is offered halfway through the session.

When are the sessions?The After School Club runs from 15.00 until 17.30 on Wednesdays and Thursdays (Term Time)

Saturday Fun ClubHow does the service work?The Saturday Club gives Disabled children some valuable time away from their families to play and have fun with their friends whilst also allowing them the opportunity to make new friends.

FacilitiesThe children have the chance to take part in wide variety of exciting and fulfilling activities, such as riding bikes and tricycle’s, sensory and messy play, arts and crafts, role play, music and dancing, water and sand play, group games and sporting resources.  We also have access to a library/quiet area, sensory room and large outside area with play park and secret den.

Holiday PlayschemesHow does the service work?Our playschemes offer a range of different exciting activities to those who attend, such as wheelchair basketball and DJ workshops. With so much on offer that promotes children’s independence, not only allowing them the freedom to choose but also providing a highly experienced staff team to support them where necessary.

FacilitiesOn site we cook, have had a vast amount of sporting opportunities, such as inflatables fun runs, football and space hoppers, water and sand play, arts and crafts with lots of other enjoyable play and messy activities. Previous trips include the QE2 Centre, splash pool, Bird World, Monkey World, Chessington World of Adventures and horse riding, offering the children the chance to participate in activities and have exciting experiences fully supported by the staff team.

How to access the servicesSelf referrals can be made direct to KIDS, to your social worker or through Sue King at Heathfield School.
Young people need to have a Hampshire Gateway Card. You can apply for a card here: http://www3.hants.gov.uk/gatewaycard

Places are allocated as fairly as possible and cancellation/waiting lists are in use. We will inform you of dates in advance and make clear which sessions your young person has been given.
