The Early Years Short Break Service is a package of care and support for those children with complex and significant child care needs. Breaks are tailored around the children’s needs & abilities with various activities occurring during the session. The groups at KIDS West Midlands include a Social Interaction and Communication Group and a Sensory Group.
How does the service work?
Activities may include; the use of sensory equipment, messy play, music & singing, outdoor play, as well as one to one play development activities throughout the session. We are able to join the nursery children during the session, which creates a great inclusive environment for the children who attend the group.
We work in partnership with both the parents and professionals involved, working on specific targets/activities, as well as offering support and advice to the parents and carers.
The staff team are very highly skilled and qualified in working with disabled children. They also have knowledge and experience of working with children who have medical conditions, such as, epilepsy, asthma and children who require tube feeding and / or medication.
When is it on?
