TV celebrities Andrea McLean, Imogen Thomas, Laura Hamilton and Monica Galetti joined children and their families at a special charity screening of Disney•Pixar's “Finding Dory” on Sunday.
The red carpet event, which was held at Vue Westfield, was put on by Disney for eight charities that the company supports including KIDS.
Hundreds of children and their families, many of whom have challenging conditions and had never been to the cinema before, were able to enjoy a bespoke screening of the film which follows the adventures of Blue Tang Dory and her friends, before it hits cinemas on July 29th. Celebrities from the world of TV joined in the fun, which included face painting and balloon making.
Andrea McLean noted "Going to see a great family film is something that everyone should be able to to enjoy, which is why I loved being part of such a brilliant day today. I loved the film; apparently Dory and I have a lot in common, which is why "Dory" is my nickname at home!"
Laura Scott, Director of Citizenship at Disney said "As a company, we are always looking at ways that we can give back to charities and bring families together using the magic and fun that Disney has to offer. We wanted to create a meaningful experience that specially caters for children and families who face real difficulties every day, giving them an opportunity to relax and have fun together, and enjoy our latest film “Finding Dory”, whilst celebrating the great work that these charities do”.
A big thank you to the team at Disney for organising this special event! Our 8 families that attended had a fantastic day, enjoying the film and feeling like film stars for the day.
