ICAP Global Charity Day

11 December 2015

On the 9th of December, markets operator ICAP plc held its 23rd annual global Charity Day of which 100% of its revenues and commissions generated globally will be donated to 13 charities in the UK and a total of 200 around the world. Our Chief Executive Caroline Stevens attended, to help spread the word about KIDS and the work that we do.

The Charity day always involves some of the patrons of the charities who get involved on the phone to close deals and boost trading volumes. This year their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended in support of SkillForce, of which The Duke is patron, as well as SportsAid and Place2Be, of which The Duchess is patron. The Duke and Duchess were also joined by the prime minister's wife Samantha Cameron who represented us here at KIDS, as well as Mulberry Bush School for traumatised youngsters.

After meeting brokers and charity representatives on a tour of the offices the Duke and Duchess had a go at closing a few deals themselves – with guidance from ICAP staff. The couple were successful in their new roles, and reportedly closed deals for €500million and traded between banks.

Our CEO had a fantastic day meeting the Duke and Duchess and other celebrities, noting  "It was such a fabulous day meeting a huge range of well-known people and raising their awareness of KIDS, as well as raising massive funds for worthwhile causes”
